Getting Started as an Influencer

So you want to start getting paid brand deals through EZTalent? Awesome! This guide will walk you through everything step by step. Don't worry if you've never done this before - we'll explain everything along the way, and the whole process takes about 10-15 minutes.

By the end of this guide, you'll have submitted your application and be on your way to receiving campaign offers from brands who want to work with you.

What You'll Need

Before you start, make sure you have:

  • At least 1,000 followers on Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube
  • A valid email address you check regularly
  • About 10-15 minutes to complete the application
  • Your social media usernames handy

Step 1: Create Your Account

First things first - let's get you signed up. Head over to eztalent.app and look for the "Sign Up" or "Get Started" button.

Here's exactly what to do:

  1. Click "Sign Up" on the homepage
  2. Choose "I'm an Influencer" - this is really important! This tells us you're a creator looking to work with brands, not a brand looking for creators. Pick the wrong one and you'll end up with the wrong dashboard.
  3. Enter your email - use one you actually check, because this is where campaign offers will be sent
  4. Create a password - needs to be at least 8 characters. Pro tip: use something you'll remember but isn't easy to guess
  5. Agree to the Terms - yes, there's legal stuff, but it's standard "don't do anything illegal" type of stuff
  6. Click "Create Account"
Wait - I picked the wrong account type!

If you accidentally selected "I'm a Brand" instead of "I'm an Influencer," don't panic. But also don't just continue - you'll need to create a new account with a different email, or contact us at info@eztalent.app and we can help sort it out. The two account types have completely different dashboards and features.

Step 2: Verify Your Email

Right after you create your account, we'll send you an email to make sure you're a real person and that email actually belongs to you. This is important because brands will contact you through this email!

What to do:

  1. Check your inbox for an email from noreply@eztalent.app
  2. Click the big "Verify Email" button in that email
  3. You'll be taken back to EZTalent and automatically logged in
Can't find the email?

This happens more often than you'd think! Here's what to try:

  • Check your spam/junk folder - email providers sometimes get overzealous
  • Search for "eztalent" in your email
  • Wait a few minutes - sometimes emails take a bit to arrive
  • Click "Resend verification email" on the login page if you still can't find it

Still nothing after 15 minutes? Email us at info@eztalent.app and we'll help you out.

Step 3: Fill Out Your Application

Now for the main event! Once your email is verified, you'll be taken to your application form. This is where you tell us (and future brand partners) about yourself and your content.

Why do we need all this info? Two reasons: First, we need to verify you're a legit creator and not a bot or spam account. Second, brands use this info to find creators who are a good fit for their campaigns. The more complete and accurate your profile, the better your chances of getting good brand deals.

Personal Information

Let's start with the basics about you:

Field What to Enter Why We Need It
Full Name Your real, legal name This goes on payment documents and legal agreements. Use the name that matches your ID.
Display Name What you want to be called This is what brands see. Can be your real name, your username, or your "creator name."
Profile Photo A clear photo of yourself Brands like to see who they're working with. Use a good quality photo - this is your first impression!
Bio A short description of you and your content Tell brands what makes you unique. What do you post about? Who's your audience? Keep it punchy.
Country Where you live Some brands only work with creators in certain regions. Also needed for tax purposes.
Writing a Great Bio

Your bio is like your elevator pitch to brands. Instead of something generic like "I post lifestyle content," try something specific like: "I help busy moms discover easy weeknight dinner recipes. My audience is 80% women aged 25-40 who love quick, healthy meals."

See the difference? The second one tells brands exactly who you reach and what kind of content you create.

Step 4: Connect Your Social Media

This is the part where you prove you're actually an influencer! You need to connect at least one social media account with at least 1,000 followers.

Platforms We Support

Platform What You'll Enter Minimum Followers
Instagram Your username (without the @) 1,000 followers
TikTok Your username (without the @) 1,000 followers
YouTube Your channel URL 1,000 subscribers
Have multiple platforms? Add them all!

The more platforms you connect, the more opportunities you'll get. A brand might be looking specifically for TikTok creators, or maybe they want someone who can post on both Instagram AND YouTube. Don't limit yourself!

What Happens After You Connect

When you submit your application, our team manually reviews your accounts. We're checking for a few things:

About Fake Followers...

We know it's tempting to buy followers to hit that 1,000 minimum, but please don't. We can tell, and it will get your application rejected. Brands can tell too, and they won't work with accounts that have fake engagement. It's better to wait until you've grown organically.

Step 5: Choose Your Categories

Categories are how brands find you. When a fitness brand is looking for creators, they filter by the "Fitness & Health" category. If you're not in that category, you won't show up in their search.

You can select up to 5 categories. Pick the ones that genuinely describe your content - not just the ones that sound profitable.

Some Examples

Be Honest With Your Categories

If you're a food blogger who occasionally posts outfit pics, select "Food & Cooking" as your main category. Don't add "Fashion & Style" just because you want more opportunities. When a fashion brand hires you and sees your feed is 95% food content, they'll be disappointed and won't work with you again.

Being accurate leads to better matches, which leads to better long-term relationships with brands.

Step 6: Set Your Rates

Here's where you tell brands how much you charge. Don't worry - these aren't set in stone. They're starting points that brands see when considering you for campaigns. You can always negotiate specific deals later.

Content Types and Typical Rates

Content Type What It Is Typical Rate Range
POST A permanent photo or carousel on your feed $50 - $500+
STORY Temporary content that disappears after 24 hours $25 - $200+
REEL Short video (like TikToks or Instagram Reels) $100 - $1,000+
VIDEO Longer video content (like YouTube videos) $200 - $2,000+
How to Price Yourself

A common formula is $10-20 per 1,000 followers for a feed post, but this varies wildly based on your niche and engagement rate. A creator with 10K highly-engaged followers in a lucrative niche (like finance) can charge more than someone with 50K followers and low engagement in a saturated niche.

When in doubt, start lower. It's easier to raise your rates as you build a track record than to get hired with rates that are too high. You can always negotiate up for specific campaigns.

Step 7: Submit and Wait

Once you've filled everything out, take a moment to review your application. Make sure there are no typos in your usernames (seriously, double-check!), and then hit "Submit Application."

What Happens Next?

  1. Your application goes into our review queue - A real human will look at it
  2. We check your social accounts - Making sure everything matches up
  3. We review your content - Ensuring it's brand-safe and authentic
  4. You get an email with our decision - Usually within 1-3 business days
The Waiting Game

We know waiting is hard! We try to review applications within 1-3 business days, but it can take a bit longer during busy periods. You don't need to do anything while you wait - we'll email you as soon as we've made a decision.

Understanding Application Status

You can check your application status anytime by logging into your account. Here's what each status means:

Status What It Means What You Should Do
PENDING We received your application and it's waiting to be reviewed Sit tight! No action needed. We'll email you soon.
APPROVED Welcome to EZTalent! You're in! Finish setting up your profile and connect Stripe so you can get paid
REJECTED We couldn't approve your application this time Check your email for specific feedback. You can reapply in 30 days.

What If I Get Rejected?

First off, don't take it personally. Getting rejected doesn't mean you're a bad creator - it just means you might not be the right fit for the platform right now. Here are the most common reasons:

You Can Try Again!

If you're rejected, you can reapply after 30 days. Use that time to grow your following, improve your content quality, and address whatever feedback we gave you. Many successful creators on our platform were rejected the first time!

You're Approved! Now What?

Congratulations! If you got the approval email, you're officially part of EZTalent. Here's what to do next:

  1. Complete your profile - Add anything you might have skipped. A complete profile gets more attention from brands.
  2. Set up Stripe Connect - This is how you'll get paid. Without this, you can accept campaigns but won't be able to receive money!
  3. Check your notification settings - Make sure you'll actually see it when brands send you offers.
  4. Wait for offers - Brands will start discovering you in their searches. The first offer might take a little while, so be patient!

Common Questions

How long until I get my first campaign offer?

This varies a lot. Some creators get offers within days, others wait a few weeks. It depends on your niche, follower count, and what brands are actively looking for. Focus on keeping your social accounts active and engaging - brands often check recent posts before reaching out.

Can I have both an influencer and brand account?

Yes, but you'll need separate email addresses for each. Some creators also run businesses, and that's totally fine!

What if my follower count drops below 1,000 after I'm approved?

Your account stays active. The 1,000 minimum is for initial approval. That said, if your following drops significantly, brands might be less interested in working with you.

Do I need to pay anything to join?

Nope! EZTalent is completely free for influencers. We make money by taking a small percentage of campaign budgets (which comes out of what the brand pays, not your earnings).
